J&K STUDEDNTS MEET PRESIDENT OF INDIA FOR SECOND SUCCESSIVE YEAR & MEET CHIEF MINISTER OF UTTARAKHAND

The youth of
Jammu and Kashmir got an exposure to the areas outside Jammu and Kashmir which
helped them in appreciating the importance of National Integration. With this good
intention Army organised a tour of the School Children and teachers hailing
from remote and far flung areas of Magam/ Kandi Bowl of Distt Kupwara for
Amritsar-Delhi-Dehradun from 30 May to 10 Jun 2013. The children were appreciative of the efforts
by the Army in organising the educational/motivational tour, which gave them a
brief exposure to the educational, historical, cultural, religious &
geographic diversities of our nation.
The children got a life time opportunity to interact with Honourable President
Shri Pranab Mukharjee at Delhi and witnessed Passing Out Parade of newly
commissioned Officers at Indian Military Academy Dehradun which was in great
demand due to similar exposure to other students in previous year. The children of J&K interact with Chief
Minister of Uttarakhand Mr Vijay Bahuguna at Dehradun. The students also visited LBS IAS Academy at
Mussoorie and enjoyed the beautiful moments while visiting Jalianwala Bagh,
Wagah Border, Golden Temple and Guru Nanak Dev University at Amritsar including
historical & tourists places at Delhi & Dehradun.Some children, on
returning in their exuberance commented that the tour has been an eye opener
for them, because of the bonhomie and courtesy that was extended to them by all
those with whom they got the opportunity to interact. The parents and the locals were extremely
grateful to the Army for having provided a life time opportunity to their
children which could remain embedded in their minds forever.
