Range level Cricket Tourney commences ,DIG Central Kashmir inaugurates event
Srinagar July 02, 2013: A Range level cricket T-20 tournament organized by
police stared today at Delhi Public School, Panthachowk Srinagar. Deputy
Inspector General of Police, Central Kashmir Range Mr. Syed Afad-ul- Mujtaba,
inaugurated the event.In his inaugural address to the participants, DIG said
J&K police is providing a platform to the youth of the state to harness
their capabilities in the field of sports and explore their talent. He further
added, a number tournament are being organised in all the districts of Kashmir.A
06 teams are participating in the tournament. These teams have qualified from
District Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal in the respective tournaments of the
Districts. Such tournaments are also being played in south and North Kashmir
Range also. Among others the inaugural function was attended by SSP
Srinagar Shri Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, SP Budgam Shri Muhammad Irshad, SP
Tarffic, Shri Haseeb Ur Rehman, Principal of Delhi Public school, Mrs Kusum
Warkoo, Sh. Shaizan Hamid Business head Airtel J&K and Shri Ghulam Mohammad
Joint Secy JKCA, and other District officers.A large gathering of people
witnessed the opening ceremony and the inaugural match that was played between
Gani Memmorial Cricket Club Srinagar and Master Eleven Ompora Budgam. Other
teams participating in the tournament are F.C.C Hawal Srinagar, Syed Gani Shah
Cricket Club Ganderbal, MCC Mansbal Ganderbal and Humhama Cricket Club Budgam.The
final of the tournament is scheduled to be played on 8th July-2013
at Delhi Public School, Panthachowk, Srinagar.
