DECEMBER 18, INB NEWS KASHMIR: -In a major success against militants in North Kashmir, four
militants were killed in an encounter today in Sadapora, Sopore.Inspector
General of Police, Mr. S.M Sahai, who visited the spot attributed the
elimination of these militants as a major success in the fight against the
militancy in the North Kashmir. He said that it is a recent group that moved
from North Kashmir, as LeT was depleted in Sopore. He termed it as a major
success for security forces.Giving details SP Sopore, Mr. Imtiaz Mir, police
recived an input regarding the presence of armed militants in Sadapora Sopore.
A joint operation was launched by Sopore police and 22 RR in wee hours today.
Four militants have been killed in an encounter so far. The identity of the
slain militants is being ascertained. However, initial investigation has shown
that the militants belong to LeT outfit.
