29 November, INB NEWS :-Reacting strongly against the hurting of sentiments of Muslims by a foreign shoe-maker company, Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G), Syed Ali Shah Geelani Thursday said "irrespective of any difference of sect" Hazrat Ali (RA) is one of the most revered and most respected personality for Muslims. “Irrespective of the caste or sect, Hazrat Ali (RA) is dear to all the Muslims and any disrespect to him will never be tolerated by Muslims,” the octogenarian said. Geelani, while appealing for unity, urged Muslims to rise above Shia-Sunni differences and defeat anti-Islam forces. “As an Ummah we should shun our sectarian differences and should unite to fight against our enemy,” he said, adding, “some miscreants are still trying to harm Muslims by creating misconceptions between the two”. The Hurriyat chairman said the Kashmiri people are subjected to severe challenges under the "unjust occupation and under such circumstances they should conceive what the need of the hour is".Geelani said that he would have visited the affected places and met the religious scholars of both the communities if authorities would have allowed him.
