Govt has failed to address the aspirations of the people:- Mehboob Beg

30 November ,INB NEWS:-Speaking on a motion moved by the Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde (Amendments in unlawful Activities Act) senior NC leader and Member Parliament, Mehboob Beg said it is unfortunate that even after over six decades, GoI needs laws like the Unlawful Activities Act or the Armed forces special powers Act to govern a state. “If in a Democratic system you need laws like this, that means the Govt has failed to address the aspirations of the people, political or otherwise. Problem with GoI is that when Kashmir goes on a boil, it takes to streets, then the whole attention goes there with the PM nominating committees, interlocutors to suggest ways and means to address the issue. Once things cool down, the Govt just forgets about the place”, he said while speaking in the Lok Sabha today
He said if problems are taken head-on and honest solutions put in place, laws like AFSPA etc won't be needed.
