Jagti Township residents protest against government at Khirbhawani




Ganderbal, June 17: Jagti Township residents protested against prolonged power curtailment at Khirbhuwani temple shortly after Omar Abdullah made his entry in the Kherbhawani. Amid NC and CM slogans, the protestors tried to stop the Chief Minister, however Omar Abdullah did not stop and left the spot without talking to anyone. Omar Abdullah even did not oblige to media personnel who were waiting for him outside the temple.According to reports scores of residents from Jagti Township who had visited Khirbhawani raised slogans against Omar Abdullah for failing to provide electricity to in the township.Protestors alleged that Chief Minister and his government is indifferent towards their problems and he is acting like an autocrat who never mingles with people. It was only after the intervention of police officials that protestors dispersed peacefully.One of the protestors told that prolonged Power curtailments in the Jagti Migrant Camp, Jammu has made the life of the camp inmates miserable at a time when the mercury was going up with every passing day. .He said that the Power Minister and Power Development Department are forcing Jagti tenements to enter into agreement with the department to bear the electric charges, ignoring their poor financial condition.
