Taj announces sports complex for Lolab Asks people to be cautious of divisive, vested interest elements








LOLAB, JUNE 19: The picturesque valley of Lolab would soon be having a state of the art sports complex equipped with the facilities of playing both outdoor and indoor games despite vagaries of weather.The sports complex would be set up at Gund Machur for which the Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services & Sports, Mr. Taj Mohi- ud- Din announced the release of Rs five crore during his visit to the Valley today.Addressing a largely attended public gathering of eight thousand people at Gund Machur, the Minister said the present Government is working hard to ameliorate the living standards of people particularly those living below poverty line, in far flung areas and those belonging to weaker sections of society. He said many schemes and programmes are in vogue for the purpose.Terming sports as a means to shape up one’s personality, Mr. Taj said youth are the future of society and the Government has started giving sports infrastructure a re look so that youth are engaged in positive and constructive ways.The Minister asked people to remain cautious of the designs of vested interest groups who create division among people in the name of catchy slogans and ideas. He said their aim is just to hoodwink the gullible and innocent people and not to make any positive contribution to people’s lives.Mr. Taj said he himself feels very attached to Lolab and it has attracted the attention of many great personalities like poet Iqbal and has been the home of renowned religious scholar late Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri who rose to be an authority on Quran & Hadith in South Asia.Responding to the demands put before him, the Minister said the recruitment of Physical Education teachers would soon commence. He said Government would consider the demands of NYK volunteers sympathetically. He also assured nomination of ten students from the area for paramedical training.Mr. Taj also announced developing two stadia at the two blocks of the Lolab Valley. He also directed the Department of Youth Services & Sports to make three teams each in the disciplines of football, hockey and cricket in all the high and higher secondary schools of the Lolab Valley.Former legislator, Haji Rasheed and Mr. Surinder Singh Channi also addressed the gathering. congresss leader Ab Rehman wani and Mushtaq Ahmed khanday was present on the occasssion and also Sarpanch Bashir Ahmed sheikh joined congress at loab in presence of Honourable Minister Chowdery Taj Mohi u din.
