LeT militant killed in encounter in Pulwama,2 Policemen injured

Srinagar, June 11: Last night In a brief encounter at Takia Niloora, Pulwama, one militant of Lashkar-e-Toiba was killed and two policemen got injured. Reports reaches that A joint party of police, Army and CRPF intercepted a motorbike carrying three persons. On interception, they fired upon the joint party. A brief encounter ensued in which one militant got killed and two policemen suffered injuries.The militant was identified as Ashiq Ahmad Lone @ Chota Rehman son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Hef Shirmal, Shopian affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba. The injured policemen have been shifted to hospital for treatment.Ashiq had joined militancy in 2009, when he came in contact with LeT Commander Abdul Rehman of Pakistan. He was arrested by Anantnag police following his involvement in unlawful activities and a case FIR no; 475/2009 stands registered against him in Police Station Anantnag.After his release, the militant again rejoined LeT cadres and was involved in threatening the panchayat members of Shopian. A case FIR No; 79/2012 stands registered against him in police station Zainapora.
