Srinagar, Mar 30: Minister of Tourism, Ghulam Ahmed Mir on
Saturday flagged off spring Swing Golf Tournament which was organized by the
department of tourism Kashmir and Royal spring’s golf course.Speaking on the
occasion, minister said such events attract the high end tourists to the state
and contribute to the economy of the state. The two teams who participated in
the tournament were tulip team and Daffodil team Director tourism Kashmir Talat
Parvez who spoke on the occasion lauded the effort of the maintenance crew of
the RSGC in maintaining the golf course at par with the international
standards.Recently RSGC was awarded by president of India with most tourist
friendly golf course in India.“It is the efforts of secretary RSGC Ghalib M
Shah, Nuzhat Gul course superintendent, Qazi Fasi civil engineer and Ajaz Reshi
mechanical engineer who strive very hard to get golf course to best playing
conditions,” Parvez said.Later on the prize distribution ceremony was held at
SKICC with the divisional commissioner Kashmir as the chief guest and IG
Kashmir as the guest of honor. Director tourism Kashmir, deputy commissioner
Srinagar and secretary RSGC were also presentThe winner of the event was tulip
team with captain Nazir Ahmad khan and winner for the runner up was daffodil
team with captain Shabir Bhat.The longest drive was won by Aamir Mehraj. The
closest to pin was Irfan Narwaru and straight drive to Dr Ashraf Jallu.
